Democratic National Convention 2012: Obama Invites "Harold And Kumar" In Latest Web Campaign Ad

Maybe the next Obama project should be called "Harold & Kumar Go to the White House."

President Obama’s campaign team released a new ad on Monday urging supporters to watch the Democratic National Convention livestream coverage online and for that reason he features the stars from the stoner comedies as a teaser to tune in.

In the 53-second Web spot, Obama is seen making a mysterious phone call as dramatic music plays.

"This is Barack," the President states. "Listen, I need to know if you’re on board. Okay, good. Cause I’m counting on you - everybody is. We have to get this right."

Obama adds: "Just remember that I’m trusting you on this, and I’ll see you there."

The scene cuts to actor Kal Penn, who’s seen watching TV on a sofa with "Harold & Kumar" co-star John Cho.

They both react nonchalantly to Obama’s call.

"Sweet," Cho claims.

Unlike their movie counterparts, the duo was filmed snacking on junk food (and not smoking marijuana).

It has to be noted that Kal Penn will host the
Democratic National Convention online  livestream coverage from Charlotte, N.C., on Thursday night, when Obama is set to take the stage.

He has also served in the Obama administration’s Office of Public Engagement and was seen Monday shooting a campaign video with First Lady Michelle Obama.

What do you think? Can Obama count on "Harold and Kumar"for the success of his campaign?
