Out of respect for the victims of Hurricane Sandy, Heidi Klum cancelled her annual Halloween bash in New York City until Saturday, December 1.
"When Sandy hit and I was like: "I cannot do a Halloween Party. I can't have fun when so many people's lives have been destroyed,"" Klum, 39, revealed exclusively to Us Weekly at her holiday party, sponsored by Svedka Vodka and Smartwater and benefiting the American Red Cross.
Needless to say that Klum spent many hours getting her makeup done to look like Cleopatra at the star-studded soiree. "Putting the outfit on takes five minutes, but doing all these 100s of stones on my face took a little longer," Heidi explained. "The face took a long time because they're all individually put on."
Just in case you wonder why Klum chose to dress up as Cleopatra, the reason was: "so many movies have been about her and so many actresses have played her in the movies - I thought that would be a great costume."
It has to be noted that Klum dares to try eccentric looks. In the past she was dressed as a crow, a Hindu goddess and even a robot! Klum was really excited to wear something a little sexier this time...
"I thought that I was a little ugly last year, which I loved, but I always like to change it up. I don't always kind of want to look the same. I was really like: "I couldn't be more ugly." I called it the visible woman because you visibly could see where all the veins are and where all the muscles are," Klum was quoted as saying. "And then here in NYC, I was kind of like an ape. So I thought: "Now I want something really pretty and sparkly for a change.""
To conclude, Heidi Klum revealed she planned to drive to Long Island on December 2 to help those affected by Hurricane Sandy. "We can mix this together and help a lot of the people," Klum claimed.
