Melanie Griffith Surgery

American actress Melanie Griffith, best known for her performance in the film "Working Girl", is rumored to have had surgery to turn back the hands of time.

Griffith, 55, is speculated to have had multiple plastic surgery procedures such as: botox injections, eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), forehead lift, many face lifts, dermabrasion, breast augmentation, lip injections, liposuction, dermal fillers like Restylane or Sculptra and chemical peels.

Many people insist Melanie Griffith has had numerous plastic surgery operations since she began her acting career.

Judging by the before and after pictures, Griffith's lips were thinner and smaller while now are over-full and over plumped, especially her upper-lip in an attempt to give her a youthful image.

Some gossip websites and celebrity watchers consistently refer to her "trout mouth", which is the syndrome where collagen, injected into the lips to fill out wrinkles, is overused and makes the lips stick out like fish lips. They have also commented that her lips are so blown up that it seems she has difficulty in closing her lips.

Her face appears smooth and puffed up, an indication of filler injections like Restylane and botox injections along with some laser treatments.

When Melanie appeared at a show in LA in 2011, where her face seemed somehow distorted, people estimated that she has undergone an upper eyelid surgery and a brow lift.

Griffith's forehead looks tight without a trace of a wrinkle and the rest of her face has no signs of aging signs: no crows' feet around the eyes, no under eye bags and no laugh lines. Her lips are so blown up that it looks like it is an effort to close her lips.

It has to be noted that Griffith has long been held up as the poster child for plastic surgery which has gone wrong.

"In my opinion, Melanie Griffith has been the poster-child for overdone plastic surgery for years," Dr. Youn was quoted as saying, claiming: "Her lips and cheeks appear plumped to unnatural proportions, while the rest of her face has a waxy sheen of supermarket fruit."

Griffith recently confessed that she became a victim of twitter trolls who made fun of her image.

"Most people are telling me I look horrible," Griffith was quoted as saying.

"The tweets I get are really nasty," Griffith added.

Opening up at a benefit for the Children's Hospital in Los Angeles, Griffith revealed to US Weekly: "I don't know if I look that great," she noted.

"(But) I work out a lot. I have a trainer that I (work with) four times a week, and I do hot yoga," Griffith explained.

Griffith once claimed: "I don't think I'm beautiful. When I look in the mirror, I just see me - and, I'm pretty used to me."

On the other hand, Griffith has never confirmed or denied the plastic surgery rumors.

As for her husband, Antonio Banderas, he told about his wife's obsession with beauty: " This lust for beauty is a terrible thing. I've forbidden her from ever going to a cosmetic surgeon again. It is something we have agreed to for the sake of our marriage."

"I said to her: "I want to see you growing old and I will grow old with you too, and I don't care". I like her the way she is. Wrinkles are beautiful," Banderas stated.

When Griffith was spotted on the set of "Desperate Housewives" in 2012 for a guest starring role on the final season of the show, her remarkably fresh-faced and natural look made a marked change from the frozen mask she sported. As for her overplumped "trout pout" lips, they now thankfully appear to have settled down and shrunk, coming closer to the normal proportions that her lips had back in the 1980s.

Although, some who have seen her filming her new series "This American Housewife" claim that her looks appear to be more natural and less enhanced today. Many of the critics and her fans agree that she look suprisingly better this way.

"Melanie looks great!" Dr. Anthony Youn, who has not treated the star, claimed, commenting: "The Working Girl appears to have been working on looking more natural for her role in Desperate Housewives".

"She seems to be letting some of her overdone plastic surgery fade, along with getting a small nip here, or a tuck there to keep looking youthful," Dr. Youn stated.

"Her face, although likely smoothed with injectable fillers like Restylane and laser treatments, looks less puffy than before," the surgeon continued.

"I suspect she's had some botox to her forehead and had an upper eyelid lift, both of which have contributed to a refreshed, youthful appearance. I think overall Melanie looks better than she has in years!" Dr. Youn explained, adding that the next move for her should be to take out the implants from her lips.

"It is possible that her youthful looks are down to genes, but I would say that in this case it is unlikely," Dr. Gaitainis claimed.

Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer noted: "Melanie Griffith could rejuvenate the look of her face by using dermal fillers such as Restylane or Sculptra to fill in the lines and hollow look below her eyes and around her mouth and cheeks. Chemical peels do a great job of smoothing out fine lines as well."

Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer revealed: "Melanie Griffith does have a much more natural appearance these days. Her lips are not as full most likely the result of more conservative dermal filler treatments. For Melanie to continue her new natural look, less is more - less fillers, less Botox and fewer chemical peels."

Celebrity plastic surgeon in New York City Dr. David Shafer was quoted as saying: "Melanie Griffith looks great. She does not appear to need fillers. If her lips have an HA product in them, I would suggest melting it down a bit. Overall, continued skin care and maintenance therapy should serve her well."
