Kim Kardashian's credit card "The Kardashian Kard," which was launched in 2010, had an absurd pricing. It was a prepaid card, which meant it aimed at teenagers. The costs were between $60 and $100 to activate - an unprecedented starter fee for prepaid cards.
Analyst Zilvinas Bareisis revealed to American Banker: "I am baffled - this card doesn't seem to make sense at all, it appears to be targeted at teenagers, yet with ridiculous fees. If there is such a thing as a luxury prepaid market, then it's not going to be the teens."
It has to be noted that later Kim Kardashian and her sisters (Kourtney and Khloe) as well as their company Dash Dolls LLC were sued for $75million by the company Revenue Resource Group LLC that licensed their photos and marketed the card for breach of contract.
